Beauty Out of Ashes
There is a need in life to find our purpose in life. I think this is the ultimate question that all human being pose to themselves.
- What is my purpose?
- Why was I created?
- What is the purpose of this whole life? My education, my failures, my problems, all this toil, my children?
- What do all these signify?
These days I love being real. There was a time I hid so much of myself to others, I even hid myself to myself if that even makes sense (belly laugh) how? by denying that I had certain traits and weaknesses and always saying, “that is who I am, God created me that way.” But No! that is not who I am, God never created us to be proud, to be angry, to be addicted to drugs, food, lustful sexual desires, pornography, to be greedy, liars and thieves. These are all behaviors that we find here on earth and that bind us out of the circumstances we find ourselves living in. They are habits and patterns of the world that we absorb consciously and unconsciously by observation of others. God created us in His likeness and image, this means, we are a resemblance of the purity and holiness of God.
Can I be real? I struggled a lot with pride, like I would rather have starved than ask for a helping hand or let anybody aside from my parents provide for me; even asking for direction was a problem. Now, this does not mean that I do not feel pride any more, there is a reason why the Bible calls some of our earthly second nature strongholds, because the devil has twisted our first human nature, our likeness and image of God and corrupted us to think that we are dirty, unworthy, full of blame and shame. But GOD! says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, we are His children, His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. There is nothing that is beyond God, I thought I was a naturally prideful person and these are the lies we believe because we do not know the immense reality of who we are in God.
God can make beauty out of ashes.
He can make anything Holy because His nature is holiness. He is the most astounding discovery in all my lifetime and if we let Him flow freely in our lives, with total submission and trust, we find our true purpose in this life. Many people including I (BC – Before Christ) struggle to find purpose and meaning therefore we get into relationships just for kicks, we look for validation from others, we over feed our appetites to forget our problems, we indulge our sexual desires, all these because we are looking for the one pleasure that will satisfy us without having to feel guilty thereafter.
JESUS IS THE ANSWER! I know you are probably a skeptic, but I have been there and I have also felt the emptiness inside, I have sought for these answers in the world and only ended up in more pain and confusion. This man who I overlooked had all the answers to my questions, even the ones that I did not know I had. Ultimately, our answer is our creator, the one whom we are made in His image and likeness – from the very beginning of time.
