Isn’t it a blessing to be alive? Yes I believe it is. I am so blessed I cannot contain it. Not because it is Christmas. Yes there is that, but the reason behind my joy is realizing that The Lord Jesus Christ is born in my heart every single day. To fully understand the love of God and the sacrifice He made for me by sending His own son as a ransom for my sins is the biggest blessing.
Thus, Christmas is not just about giving and sharing for this one season only, but it is also a reminder that Jesus came into the world as light; so that we may also be light to others. By loving people and sacrificing our lives for the sake of others everyday.
Yesterday, I read from the verse where Jesus washed His disciples’ feet. He told them,
Now that I, Your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set an example that you should do as I have done for you. John 13:14-15
As for me,
I am blessed to have a family, friends, and grand parents who encourage me to go on each day; to have encountered Jesus on my road to Emmaus this year.
Also, to have discovered who God calls me and allowed Him to work through and in me.
This is just a beginning of an intimate relationship with God. A friendship, as Hillsong sang, that will lead me where my trust is without borders, where I will walk upon the waters wherever He calls me. A friendship that will take me deeper than my feet could ever wander and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior.
My prayer this season, is that we may be Christians who desire to seek God and find out what He wills for us. That we may understand that the birth of Jesus was not just about gifts and excitement, but was the most powerful occurence in the whole of the universe. A birth that saved us from sin and death; so that we could have life and life in abundance. May the peace, love and grace of God keep you and your families. In JESUS name.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and blessed holidays.
With love, W. Mwangi
