I had an altercation with some people yesterday and the whole situation was just an injustice. I was tempted so many times to reproach them verbally, let me just be honest the flesh was yelling “Curse them all out!” But the Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me “Don’t get worked up over it, this is not even worth it, remember WHO your defender is! He will make it RIGHT.”
You know what I did? I blessed them instead.
Looking deeply into the situation made me realize that there are so many injustices that go on in the world and most times justice is never served. Our own courts are flawed in carrying out justice, our earthly systems are so biased & rigged against the people they are supposed to protect. People who have been wronged have to succumb to begging for justice from fellow human beings.
But GOD! Is a God of justice He makes everything right.
Isaiah 30:18 “Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!” (NIV)
I remember some time back, (BC days) when I used to peruse through the Bible and wondered what the teaching of Turning the other cheek was all about. I thought that whole concept just sounded ridiculous because when somebody is coming at you, you just want to give them a black eye! What do you mean forgive?
Getting worked up and annoyed is what the devil actually wants to achieve, remember he is the joy thief! Being in anger and resentment is way easier than forgiveness. Forgiveness takes so much courage and strength because we intentionally choose peace, we choose to obey God. Now, when we let God fight for us, He does repay! He is not happy when people mess with His children! Imagine a parent’s reaction when his/her child is picked on. Remember what the Egyptians went through when they refused to let Israelites go?
This is going to be me when people mess with me in the physical, I will deal with you in the spiritual!
Romans 12:19 “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”(KJV)
