One of the difficulties we face in life is identity crisis. In search of who we are, we get lost in trying to be like others.
God has called us to be who He individually created in His likeness and image. I find my identity in Christ. I root all my functionality and operation in Him and when I forget and get into works of the flesh, I let go and start again with Him. He is my source of strength. I might get weary but the amazing thing is that He replenishes and fills me with greater grace.
One error we make as human beings is making other people our source. People will fail us, my parents love me but no matter how deeply they care for me, they can never take away my sufferings or pain, they can never feel or understand any emotion for me.
Jesus is the true and only source. He will keep you going because His promises never fail, His word is true, His love is unconditional, His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He sees and understands all His children, He is the Almighty and Everlasting God. Everything about Him is like drinking from eternal purifying waters.
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.”
“Sir,” the woman said, “You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (NIV)
If we only knew what we miss by discounting and brushing off the word of God…
That is why there is a scripture that says “my people perish due to lack of knowledge.”
Be who God created you to be. You can only find your purpose if you tune all your frequencies to your creator. I am living proof that He gives us a new identity and I find rest in His arms in every second.
