Living Unimpressed

I think most Christians are living unimpressed. We have become so accustomed to procedures when it comes to matters of faith, it has become more of religious practices and less of faith.

I got up and went to church for many Sundays without knowing who I was going to worship. Since that was all I had ever experienced, it was natural and automatic for me to think, that was it. I only prayed when I needed a quick fix to situations, uttering my prayers in anxieties and not from a point of rest and resolve that my prayer had been heard by God.

How many people go to Church every Sunday and leave God at the church doors, get in their homes and deal with strife, hate, anger, jealousy, abuse, mistreatment and unnecessary heart aches?

Excerpt from “Behold I am your Father” by Anthony B. Smith

There is more to God than going to church on Sunday’s only. He is REAL, maybe we don’t know this because the only relationship we have ever had with Him is only a Sunday basic one.

He says, “when shall you seek me with all your heart, you shall find me.”

Faith is something else entirely, it is not bound by any worldly force or procedure, you don’t need to have something done so that you can gain it. Faith comes when we believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and constantly seek to know God with all our hearts.

A. W. Tozer said, “Many solemn, professing Christians will never make spiritual progress and will never be really happy in the Lord until God finds some way to shake them out of their deadly respectability!”

Why not choose to cast away all procedures and methods and choose to obey God’s word? It sounds easy when I say it, but it takes a lot of courage, I am still learning to do it because I know my heart is always wanting to move to the next level and obedience is something that I am learning while constantly battling against the whims of the flesh.

Look around you and notice the beauty of nature, the rhythm of the rising and the setting of the sun, all of God’s creation! Impressively Majestic! When you have an encounter with Jesus, it never leaves you the same.
