John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Saved and Loved

Dear Lord,

Thank you. Thank you for everything, above all for loving me.

My story is one of the most beautiful ones I have read so far. All of it is filled with your grace and mercy, not because You have blessed me with anything specifically; but because while I was yet still deep in sin, You saw me. You loved me, You wooed me to You, You chose me, You saved me.

When I look at You each day, I see myself as the woman with the alabaster box of ointment.

Luke 7

40And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Teacher, say it.”
41“There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”
43Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.”
44Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head.
45You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in.
46You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.
47Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
48Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

My sins were countless and maybe that is why I can’t help but shout your testimonies, tell people about this man Jesus though at times I may do it clumsily but oh that people would know you Jesus; that people would see this Jesus who held me in His arms and called me His.

To top it all up, You say “no man shall ever pluck you from my hand”. What manner of love is this? Permit me never to be separated from your presence ever. I desire to kiss your feet everyday. I recall the desolate days of old when I had no hope, no life, no anchor, and my soul shivers at the thought of going back.

I desire to stand for you and to profess Your name before men. This man Jesus who loves the ones who have been rejected by others, and who forgives all manner of sins. This man Jesus who rebukes and corrects out of love. This man Jesus who gives us new life, new identity and eternal life. This is the least I can do, to give you the whole of my life, to use for Your glory. I was wasting it away anyway— trying to take care of it on my own.

Lord Jesus, thank you for your gracious love and for always teaching me what it truly means to love.

Have my life Oh Lord and show me your glory.

I love you with all my heart, mind, body, soul, might and being.

Always create in me a clean heart and a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence, take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and uphold me with thy free spirit.

For the Son of man has come to seek and save that which was lost. Luke 19:10
