Well, I know that I am supposed to be on a writing break…but I have this desire in my heart to share this message.
It is short, but it is extremely important. I write like a child at times, so bear with me on this post, but hey! I believe this is how I best express deep truths from the heart, (especially when I do not have to edit.)
I was going through my old journals and I came across another version of me,….a girl who was searching for God day and night. I wrote Him a lot of letters… I mean aloooooot! Actually, reading some of them now, I just laugh my head off — because, well, I was addressing God with literally lack of decorum, none at all,– nada! But in my defense, I never knew He existed or, He would actually ever respond to any of them a bit later in my life.
Now, the point of this kashort story is to encourage somebody…that God is real. And He is so loving you have no idea! He cares so much about you and me in a way that is beyond this world. For all those of us who are parents we know how precious our children are, right? Like we would do absolutely anything to shield them from any pain or suffering. In fact, if it were possible, we would take on the suffering they experience and bear it ourselves. Now, imagine that God gave His only begotten child to be beat, spat on, chided, mocked, flogged and eventually crucified; suffering the most horrific and horrendous death ever recorded in human history. His own child, His beloved son. Which parent would allow such a thing? seriously?
But God did. For you, and for me. That we could have our sins forgiven and receive eternal life.
The only thing we need to do, is accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Pretty simple yeah?
But, I find most/some of us have already done this. However, so many of us still go through life as though God is disappointed or angry with us for some reason. We have been wounded so many times by the earthly relationships we have had; that we have carried this onto God, imagining He is just the same. So, most times, we are even afraid to approach Him again for fear He might strike us once and for all– (don’t worry, I know this feeling quite well.)
But no. God is a perfect Father! Me oyes?(speaking Spanish) The Bible says, when we ask Him for forgiveness– He blots out our transgressions. This means He literally erases from His remembrance all things we have ever done and looks at us as blameless children. White page! New Slate! No spots! No blemish!
Coming to Jesus isn’t this religious thing you have to do.
You know, I am not much of a talker. If you have interacted with me– you know. But God did give me this gift of writing. So, I write a great deal about Jesus, not because I want people to see how religious I am, or think I am this holy and spiritual person, — actually I honestly dislike anything that would put me in any sort of limelight– if it were possible, I would not even have any social media contact in my life. But, I write about Jesus because, what He offers is real. What He has done for me; the transformation is something I would never have done on my own– and believe me I had tried. He has done such a work that I honestly marvel at everyday. I have felt it, seen it, and experienced it. In fact, all my journals are a tangible testament because they show and tell of the many days of the graces and patience of God with me. So having experienced this, I go about writing and telling people about this man Jesus; who is just amazing, truly loving and accepting despite our waywardness.
With Him, it doesn’t matter what mess you may have caught up yourself in. Jesus is able to clean it all up. But you have got to be willing to surrender to Him with a sincere, genuine, and child-like heart. He is a true friend who sticks closer to you than any person in the world. He is a loyal, dependable and a faithful friend. You can speak to Him at any hour of the day or night and He will listen. It’s not magic though. He speaks and answers differently, but be patient and keep seeking Him.
So that’s it actually 🙂
I just wanted to encourage somebody not to give up. All channels at some point might fail– even our families, but Jesus never fails.
Yikes! Almost 1200 words… I thought this would be short.
But any ways, I’d like to leave some verses below, so that we can see how profoundly God loves us and what lengths He went to, to make sure we do not perish.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. II Corinthians 5:21
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him may be saved. John 3:17
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:56-57
As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalms 103:12
May your days be filled with His loving countenance, peace, joy, and goodness always!
With much love in Christ from my end!
