A picture worth a thousand words: Roman Holiday

A Picture Worth a Thousand Words

Firstly, October 2022! Oh my goodness people! The year is almost over. I personally have a history with the month of October and that’s why I am usually humbled and grateful to God for the opportunity to see yet another October.

Anyway, straight to the post of today—

I have had this certain (featured) image in my gallery since the first time I laid my eyes on it (which is probably some three+ years ago).

I have lost several pictures as a result of change of mobile phones, yet somehow, somehow, I usually locate this photo again.

I can’t quite explain why I love it so much. Maybe it is the way he watches her sleep or pretend to sleep. Maybe it is the way she is comfortable without a care in the world. Or maybe it is the whole retro vibe kind of outfits they have worn which I am personally a fan of (though I know this is least likely the case).

A picture worth a thousand words

Whatever the case, I love this photo.

It is as though he is observing her — tenderly — wondering to himself “what in the world is she doing sleeping on my shoulder out here in the public?” or, “what a woman” or, “how on earth did I get so blessed with such a lovely woman with such a character?” or “goodness gracious! She is beautiful!”

It reminds me of a short post I once wrote in 2017 titled: Lover’s Imprint and the movie Old Fashioned.

It is true, the person who said that a picture is worth a thousand words, sure did know what they were talking about.

Yet, even without romanticising the whole photo, I still find it beautiful as it is. It communicates: respect, warmth, safety and protection.

The photo could possibly be from one of the many films we have in the film industry today. Nevertheless, it is worth having a space on my blog.

What a capture!

Jeremiah 31:3 The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.

Okay… Let’s just be honest, whenever most people hear anything about religion, their first reaction and instinct is probably to cringe or brush off the whole matter entirely.

Why? Most likely because it is a subject that is associated with extreme cases of fanaticism, it brings about a lot of conflicts and controversies, and even offends easily.

Religion is famously known for: manipulation, stagnation, repression, ignorance, bigotry and is too often a threat to liberty. And rightly so. I do agree. With that said, I recommend you to read two of my posts as well as encourage you to do a personal, extensive, and honest research on your own regarding this matter. Why?

As intellectuals (critical thinkers), I believe we owe it to ourselves to interrogate, examine, and ask hard questions regarding matters touching on faith rather than choosing to ignore them or even worse— follow blind faith. Click here for the first post.

Who speaks the truth with regards to a genuine, sincere and true relationship with God? Is it Buddha? Muhammad? Jesus? Zoroaster? Confucius? Joseph Smith? Guru Nanak? Krishna? Among others? Find out on this second post:

Why Jesus Stands Out

My heart overflows with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalms 45:1
