Lord of lords, King of kings, our Father, and my friend; thank you for lovingly creating us and desiring a loving relationship with us.
Lord, this day, You have granted us a new president. Thank You for this wonderful blessing. Your word tells us that every good gift comes from You; and indeed today, You have granted the great nation of Kenya a leader of Your choosing.
Lord, I pray for H.E. William Samoei Ruto and his government. Father, I ask that You grant him wisdom to lead the people of Kenya.
Lord, I pray that in his presidency he will demonstrate true servanthood; and that he will execute all the mandates of his office as he has sworn to do in the presence of us all, and before You today. I pray that his rule will be one where the fear of You reigns supreme.
He has confessed himself as a Christian; how I pray O God, that You will use him to demonstrate to the people of Kenya and to the world at large, the veracity of Christian values— so that Your name is glorified. May You order his steps O God, and help him to remain true to the Christian values.
Abba, for Your name’s sake, I pray that You move in his heart and work through him as he endevours to serve the people of Kenya. I pray that Your word will be a guide and an anchor in his life as he makes all his decisions; for Your word O Lord, brings light to all darkness.
Subsequently, as he embarks to elect his cabinet, Lord, I pray that You will grant him wisdom to elect men and women into office who will work seamlessly with him— leading our nation to a corrupt-free Kenya, and to that end, becoming an example to other nations.
Father, I pray that You help him and his government to pull our economy out of state it is in currently and plunge it into a vibrant and healthy economy. Help us to pay all the debts we owe. We cannot do it without Your help. We need You Lord.
Help us as well as citizens of this nation, to support him, critique him, and hold him to account.
Lord, I pray too, that You will grant him favor with other nations, to the glory of Your name.
Father, how I love this nation! Just help us O God for Your great name’s sake; and deliver us from any, and all economic depression, and from the corruption that eats our economic growth away.
Abba, raise up as well, men and women in this nation who are ready and willing to do Your will, and to submit to You in all their private or public service.
Thank You too for the for the service of our outgoing government and its leadership. Thank You too for the service of our former P.M. Hon. Raila A. Odinga. Lord, I pray for a special blessing over these leaders, and all other leaders who fight for the democracy of our nation everyday.
Lord, continue granting us love, peace, and unity amongst ourselves. Protect our borders and keep a fixed watch over this land and nation.
Bless us as a nation and bless us as individual citizens of this beautiful country Kenya.
Father, I ask all this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Okay… Let’s just be honest, whenever most people hear anything about religion, their first reaction and instinct is probably to cringe or brush off the whole matter entirely.
Why? Most likely because it is a subject that is associated with extreme cases of fanaticism, it brings about a lot of conflicts and controversies, and even offends easily.
Religion is famously known for: manipulation, stagnation, repression, ignorance, bigotry and is too often a threat to liberty. And rightly so. I do agree. With that said, I recommend you to read two of my posts as well as encourage you to do a personal, extensive, and honest research on your own regarding this matter. Why?
As intellectuals (critical thinkers), I believe we owe it to ourselves to interrogate, examine, and ask hard questions regarding matters touching on faith rather than choosing to ignore them or even worse— follow blind faith. Click here for the first post.
Who speaks the truth with regards to a genuine, sincere and true relationship with God? Is it Buddha? Muhammad? Jesus? Zoroaster? Confucius? Joseph Smith? Guru Nanak? Krishna? Among others? Find out on this second post:
My heart overflows with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalms 45:1
