The Race of Adam is under a Death Sentence

There is nothing much to say as the subject of the post says it all. The whole of mankind is heading towards a dead end. I need not stress anymore the evil in the world. It is disheartening, heart-breaking and exhausting to see the lives of little children, adults, and the elderly ripped away from their loved ones and from the society as a whole for whatever reasons through means of unwarranted violence.

It is tragic and upsetting to see nations attack other nations, again, for whatever reasons; and it is even more disheartening to search for hope and for a better and safer society from the leaders of this world because the truth is, they neither offer them in policies, nor in deeds.

Why? Because the rottenness lies in the heart of man; my heart and your heart. And no matter how much we try to refurbish our exterior, the rot still remains. I, being chief among those I speak of, for I am just as much in the quagmire of the race of Adam as the children who lost their lives in the Texas shooting, the young man who opened fire on those precious lives, and the leaders who give orders to ravage communities for self-gain. I am just as much in the miry clay as the whole of mankind.

Yet, even though the world is heading to a dead end, there is a hope that remains strong and firm that is not found with any leader here on earth. That glorious hope is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He will come and snatch us away from this road leading to a blind alley to be with Him forever; where there will be no shooting, no war, no violence and no death.

He will make all things new, He will wipe away all the tears from our eyes, and give us (all those who believe in Him) beauty for the ashes we have experienced while living on this earth. And this is our blessed hope.

Some cynic may say, “O that’s cute and all that He will do these glorious things in the future, in the meantime, we just keep enduring the killings, diseases, deaths, wars and famine. What a loving God!

Yet God’s word has declared:

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Following the shooting in Uvalde, Texas, I saw somebody comment, “I hope that people will start doing more than thoughts and prayers.” From the exterior, I may have thought that that was a good point indeed, but considering the statement introspectively after sometime, I thought that it was a selfish statement to make and even wondered what the commentor herself/himself was doing to that effect.

God has given humanity free will—  the power of choice, so that we may choose to follow Him and keep His commands or choose to rebel against Him. And with the power of choice, comes the risk of an 18 year old aiming a loaded weapon at other human beings or even at animals and opening fire— targeting lives and killing lives.

The reality of the world is that, unlike God, we are unable to tell the future, we are unable to mitigate most of the risk posed by God given free-will. Thus, even if we blamed the police, the leadership and even ourselves constantly for not doing a better job, the threat will always linger wherever we go.

There is nothing much we can do because even as human beings we are unable to save ourselves from sin. That is why Jesus spoke to His followers regarding the tribulations to be faced on this earth saying,

John 16:33

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

He also said,

Luke 18

1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.

My heart breaks together with those families who are enduring the painful realities that they will have to wake up everyday and not see their children, wives, mothers, brothers and sisters. My heart breaks together with Ukraine, together with Russians, together with the world as it is appalled by the evident evil and violence looming our streets.

Yet, I choose not to despair as the world does because I know that Jesus is coming soon to establish His righteous reign upon the earth and He will make all things new. He will also give each man according to His deeds and works done in the flesh in this world.

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

Isaiah 2

2 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days. That the mountain of the Lord’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it.
3 Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 He shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore.

The race of Adam is indeed under a death sentence (Revelation 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16), but the race redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ is heading towards eternal life, peace and rest (Revelation 21, 22).

Which train are you in?

Even so Lord Jesus. Come!

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Okay… Let’s just be honest, whenever most people hear anything about religion, their first reaction and instinct is probably to cringe or brush off the whole matter entirely.

Why? Most likely because it is a subject that is associated with extreme cases of fanaticism, it brings about a lot of conflicts and controversies, and even offends easily.

Religion is famously known for: manipulation, stagnation, repression, ignorance, bigotry and is too often a threat to liberty. And rightly so. I do agree. With that said, I recommend you to read two of my posts as well as encourage you to do a personal, extensive, and honest research on your own regarding this matter. Why?

As intellectuals (critical thinkers), I believe we owe it to ourselves to interrogate, examine, and ask hard questions regarding matters touching on faith rather than choosing to ignore them or even worse— follow blind faith. Click here for the first post.

Who speaks the truth with regards to a genuine, sincere and true relationship with God? Is it Buddha? Muhammad? Jesus? Zoroaster? Confucius? Joseph Smith? Guru Nanak? Krishna? Among others? Find out on this second post:

Why Jesus Stands Out

My heart overflows with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalms 45:1
