Matthew 6:31 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Your Love O God, Means More (to me) than Life

Psalm 63

1 O GOD, You are my God, [I worship you] early [earnestly] will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is in faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is. [as I would long for a stream in a scorching desert.]
2 So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory.

Jesus, coming in the clouds with great power and glory
3 Because Your loving-kindness is better than life [itself], my lips shall praise You. [Your love means more to me than life.]
4 So will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. [I will lift up Your name in the presence of all men.]
5 My soul [whole being] shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. [I will sing joyful praises and be filled with excitement like a guest at a banquet.]
6 When I remember You upon my bed and meditate on You in the night watches. [During the night, I am lost in thought meditating upon Your faithfulness and goodness to me.]
7 For You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings will I rejoice [be glad]. [You have been my help day in, day out, and I will sing happy songs to You in the shadow of Your wings.] [Praise be to God who has delivered me from the devastating effects of sin and from death.]
8 My soul [whole being] follows hard after You and clings closely to You; Your right hand upholds me. [Your powerful arm supports me.]
9 But those who seek and demand my life to ruin and destroy it shall [themselves be destroyed and] go into the lower parts of the earth [into the underworld of the dead]. [The devil— the one who seeks my soul without relenting, accusing me day and night, waiting for my downfall.] [Deliver me from the evil one.]
10 They shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be a prey for foxes and jackals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God; everyone who swears by Him [that is, who binds himself by God’s authority, acknowledging His supremacy, and devoting himself to His glory and service alone; every such one] shall glory, for the mouths of those who speak lies shall be stopped.
