The Song of the Redeemed Soul

The Lord is my help and my redeemer.

He is my salvation and support in every hour and in every time of need. His ways are peace and His love is perfect. Oh! How I love the Lord! How I adore Him!

The Lord God of Israel is my deliverer. Indeed, He is my banner. His arm is strong to save and He sits mighty in His throne. Yea, on His throne He does watch over me as a bear watches over her cubs. His watchful eye is ever on me; for I am precious in His sight.

The Lord my God rescues my soul in times of trouble and strengthens my spirit in times of weakness. He revitalizes my desires for His service and pours forth His living water into my soul. He renews my mind and purifies my heart; He cleanses the dross, yea, He refines me by the refining fire. He establishes me firmly in His word.

Indeed, the Lord is my strength and my fortress. I shall not be moved. His thoughts about me are peace and love; yea, they are of joy and gladness, for He rejoices over me with singing and dancing. The Lord is faithful to me and He shall not abandon the precious work which He began in me; He shall perfect that which concerns me and shall see to it till the very end.

I will praise the Lord with all my heart and soul for He is the health of my countenance. His name shall not depart from my lips for He is Jehovah – the one whom my soul longs for day and night. Praise be to you Lord God omnipotent – who reigns in glory, power and majesty from generation to generation.

Amen and amen!

Joy is the serious business of heavenOkay… Let’s just be honest, whenever most people hear anything about religion, their first reaction and instinct is probably to cringe or brush off the whole matter entirely.

Why? Most likely because it is a subject that is associated with extreme cases of fanaticism, it brings about a lot of conflicts and controversies, and even offends easily.

Religion is famously known for: manipulation, stagnation, repression, ignorance, bigotry and is too often a threat to liberty. And rightly so. I do agree. With that said, I recommend you to read two of my posts as well as encourage you to do a personal, extensive, and honest research on your own regarding this matter. Why?

As intellectuals (critical thinkers), I believe we owe it to ourselves to interrogate, examine, and ask hard questions regarding matters touching on faith rather than choosing to ignore them or even worse— follow blind faith. Click here for the first post.

Who speaks the truth with regards to a genuine, sincere and true relationship with God? Is it Buddha? Muhammad? Jesus? Zoroaster? Confucius? Joseph Smith? Guru Nanak? Krishna? Among others? Find out on this second post:

Why Jesus Stands Out

My heart overflows with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalms 45:1
