Isn’t it a blessing to be alive? Yes I believe it is. I am so blessed I cannot contain it. Not because it is Christmas, yes there is that, but the reason behind my joy is realizing that The Lord Jesus Christ is born in my heart every single day, to fully understand the love of God and the sacrifice He made for my sake by sending His own son as a ransom for many.
Christmas, is not about giving and sharing for this one season only, but it is a reminder that Jesus came into the world as light that we may also be light to others. Loving people and sacrificing our needs and desires for the sake of others everyday. Yesterday, I was reading the verse where Jesus was washing His disciples’ feet and He told them,
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set an example that you should do as I have done for you. John 13:14-15
As for me,
I am blessed to have a family, friends and my grand parents who are my deepest inspiration.
To have encountered Jesus on my road to Emmaus this year.
To have discovered who God calls me and allow Him to work through and in me. This is just a beginning of an intimate relationship with God. A friendship, as Hillsong sang, that will lead me where my trust is without borders, where I will walk upon the waters wherever He calls me. A friendship that will take me deeper than my feet could ever wander and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior.
My prayer this season, is that we may be Christians who desire to seek God and find out what He wills for us. That we may understand that the birth of Jesus was not just about gifts and excitement, but it was the most powerful occurence in the whole of the universe. A birth that saved us from sin and death, that we may have life and life in abundance. May the peace, love and grace of God keep you and your families. In JESUS name.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and blessed holidays.
With love, W. Mwangi
