In case You Were Wondering 💭

shykonessy? soulofagypsywoman? Which name can I call you?

Well, my name is Wanjiku Mwangi. And Shyko works just fine. Also, I have a friend who calls me Gypsy which I also don’t mind.

Why soulofagypsywoman? What is a gypsy?

Well, I am glad you asked. Hopefully the blog post raw will help to answer your question. Also, I understand the name gypsy is considered offensive in some regions and by some people but I personally believe it is a beautiful name. It resonated with me so much when I needed an explanation as to why in my heart I always felt free-spirited yet I was caged by the cares and worries of life.

Why not change it to something more ‘Christian’? Would you change your domain name if you could?

No. I love the name gypsy just as it is and more so even now irrespective of the reservations and misgivings around it. By the name gypsy, I understand much deeper and see more clearly the redemptive power of God – that of taking those things which are despised and rejected and bringing beauty from them. Plus Galatians 3.

Some of your older posts: take a more liberal direction an all roads/religions point to the same God – than your more recent ones. Any comments?

Sure… this blog post might help.

How can I support your blog?

How kind of you! Really, that’ s really kind and considerate. Your prayers and encouragement are the best support you can offer to me. No. Sorry.

Do you do interviews/speaking engagements?

No. Sorry.

Do you accept advertising on your site?

No. Sorry.

Are you on social media?

Yes and No. I only use my social media pages to share my blog posts. However, I do not engage in discussions or participate in social engagements.

Do you suppose yourself to be a super-saint or something?

Yes and No. Yes – because of II Corinthians 5:21 and No – because I have innumerable flaws and I stumble so many times. It is by the grace of God I write this blog and that is why the spiritual journey category exists; to share with others the failures, challenges and victories I face as a Christian.

How can I contact you?

Because words are my portion ☺️ feel free to email me whenever! And I will get back to you as soon as possible. Also, my emails have a confidentiality disclaimer embedded on the signature for privacy and discretion purposes.

Thank you and Happy Reading!

Matthew 6:31 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Okay… Let’s just be honest, whenever most people hear anything about religion, their first reaction and instinct is probably to cringe or brush off the whole matter entirely.

Why? Most likely because it is a subject that is associated with extreme cases of fanaticism, it brings about a lot of conflicts and controversies, and even offends easily.

Religion is famously known for: manipulation, stagnation, repression, ignorance, bigotry and is too often a threat to liberty. And rightly so. I do agree. With that said, I recommend you to read two of my posts as well as encourage you to do a personal, extensive, and honest research on your own regarding this matter. Why?

As intellectuals (critical thinkers), I believe we owe it to ourselves to interrogate, examine, and ask hard questions regarding matters touching on faith rather than choosing to ignore them or even worse— follow blind faith. Click here for the first post.

Who speaks the truth with regards to a genuine, sincere and true relationship with God? Is it Buddha? Muhammad? Jesus? Zoroaster? Confucius? Joseph Smith? Guru Nanak? Krishna? Among others? Find out on this second post:

Why Jesus Stands Out

My heart overflows with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalms 45:1

Thank you for reading this blog. Feel free to share it with others whenever and wherever.🙂
