Psalms 139:23—24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Letters to God (III)

Holy Spirit guide me.

Create in me a clean heart O Lord, and renew a right spirit within me.

Have mercy upon me O Lord; according to thy loving-kindness; according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my trespasses and the wicked intentions and rebellious thoughts in mine heart.

Let thy sword abide within me at all times, lest I fall into a slumber.

Guard my heart from the wicked way and lead me alway to the living water, the bread of life.

What more can I say?

Thou art the Potter and I am the clay. Can the clay then, say to the Potter,

“why makest me thus?”

O Lord, indeed I am weak and feeble at heart. I am come to the end of my strength truly. When I turn to my right and to my left, I am encompassed. When I look back, there is only but darkness, when I try to step forward, my knees tremble in weakness.

I am come to the end of my strength O Lord. I surrender.

Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.

Renew my mind and pour into my soul the true and living water.

For I am without mine own strength and will.

Save me, O God; for the worldly waters are come in unto my soul.

I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

But I know that, only the true and living water can save me.
