There was a time my mum was talking to me about giving to God and she gave me this really great and eye opening example. She told me to imagine I was holding some money in my hand, then she asked me to give it to God. I automatically stretched out my hand then she told me, “God blesses open hearts and hands, had you held on to the ‘money’ in your fist He would not have found a place to place your blessing.”
Malach 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].” (KJV)
HE SAYS, TEST ME AND SEE
I think most times we are afraid of letting go because we are not sure of the outcome, we prefer holding on to things, situations and people we are familiar with because they are safe and they are all we have known. Letting go and letting God is taking a huge leap of faith especially when you are beginning a walk with God. He will do what He said He will do, God is not man that He can lie.
Numbers 23:19 “God [is] not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do [it]? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?”(KJV)
The one thing I have observed about Him over my walk with Him, is that He is constant, at every single thing. If He says it, He will do it, it does not matter what mess you get yourself caught up in, this can only delay but not avert. Think of Abram and Sarai, God promised them that He would give them a son and make Abram a father of many nations, despite their unbelief, God kept HIS WORD.
