Truth Vs Deception

I hope all of you are doing great, keeping safe and clean. We are almost mid May and it is a blessing to see the days unfold despite the tragic events that have paralyzed the world for the past five months.

When this month begun, I was quite excited and might I add abit too excited and eager to keep writing and sharing the gospel. Many people do not understand how and why someone would want to speak about ‘religious matters’ all the time. To the contrary, the gospel of Jesus Christ is not religion, though religion has taken shape around the simple child like faith in Jesus alone and swept the entire world into a deception —having a form of godliness but denying its power thereof. Jesus is therefore not a religion, but the only way to salvation and eternal life. How then can a man discover such kind of truth and keep silent about it? Especially when you look around the world and see the suffering, pain, death, suicides, crime, hopelessness and thousands of people deceived like I was?

I must speak, I have to speak, I cannot do anything else now, knowing what I know. Even if I do it with much fear and trembling, I must speak. If I am honest…

I tremble whenever I want to share the message of hope in Jesus Christ, because this message comes with its share of rejection, criticism, isolation and even branding by people. It is even harder to share with people who know about Jesus, think they know Jesus, but have never met or encountered Him, they do not have a personal relationship with Him and He does not abide in their hearts as Lord and Saviour, they have never experienced His peace and new life, they have not met Jesus Christ on their road, they do not know truly He is the only friend in the whole world who sticks closer than brother.

Sometimes I shudder at my own words and begin reasoning, figuring out how my message will be received. I begin wondering with many questions about the effectiveness of what I am doing, some days, I want to take a break from encouraging people in Christ. This is my journey, and I too, am learning like any other relationship between men, there are days where one gets a faint heart even with all the love and good intentions.

However, no matter how faint I get, there is always a desire burning inside of me and a heaviness of heart crying out that cannot afford to stay silent. So many are perishing in their deception, others with no hope and a largest group in their multitudes are walking on the broad road that leads to destruction with Jesus on their sleeves but not in their hearts. If I stay silent, I contribute to their death, as I carry the responsibility of knowing the truth and not sharing it with them, that they too, may be saved. I was watching an interesting interview recently and one of the men on that panel said, “when he is sharing the gospel, he tells himself it is not his responsibility to make people believe or try to make them accept it, the Holy Spirit is responsible for doing that work, therefore his concern only remains to share the gospel, the truth of Christ and Christ alone whether he is accepted or rejected”

So that is exactly what I intend to keep doing for rest of my life here on earth; to tear my heart open for everyone to see Jesus Christ. No matter how silly and ridiculous it looks, even if I have to put down my introverted tendencies and carry my cross daily and follow Christ despite what people say, don’t say or think.

For many of us, religion has totally blocked our path to Jesus and has substituted the child like faith in Jesus with religious practices and now many are travelling on the broad road that leads to destruction thinking they are on the right path. I know I have focused a lot lately on religion, because this is where I was lost as well. Religion has managed to deceive men into believing that there are many ways to God. But truly I tell you, Jesus Christ is the only way, there is no mediation in between, no pilgrimage journey to Israel or to Mecca, there is no such thing as intercessions of the saints, Mary or the dead, there is no nirvana, there is no reincarnation or rebirth, there is no salvation because of a good heart and good deeds, no protection in the rosary, there is no confession for absolution of sins, there is no purgatory for purification of sins, there is no direct route to heaven after death but all who die are to await the day of judgment—to give an account to God, what did you do with your life and with Jesus? Just as Pilate was posed with the same question. Many people today have lukewarm christianity, the world has been hit by this wave of ‘new age christianity’ where, “God loves us despite of our sins, and if we confess He will forgive us”. Then go back to our sinful ways— suppose we have somebody we love dearly, would we want to hurt them over and over and over again, just because they are merciful? That would be cruel right? And really heartbreaking.

If only we asked God to show us where we are going wrong, if only we opened our Bibles and sought for direction. I remember starting out, I read a Bible that has been adulterated and I didn’t even know that the changes to it also caused me to stumble in my faith, but that did not stop God. He used what I had and everyday drew me closer to His full truth. (as an fyi, I find the King James Version to be the best translation of all I have read)

The Bible says, “now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation” the word of God never promises a tomorrow, because nobody knows their tomorrow. Therefore, we must all turn away from these practices imposed by men and put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus alone. He became the one and ultimate mediator between us and God after His sacrifice on the cross for eternity. God said, “my people die to lack of knowledge.” Jesus said, “take heed that no man deceive you.” How many have been deceived by traditions, systems, customs, rituals, methods, superstitious?

These words might cause much stir among many but I would rather that happen than I stay silent and contribute to the destruction of many. If you see somebody that you love suffering from sickness or disease, wouldn’t you want to help save them at any cost? even if it costs you all your life savings? Many people have doubts and several questions about the faith they profess in their religious beliefs, they can’t quite put a finger on it, but they know something is wrong, something is missing and what we do is put it off because we think “all these believers cannot be wrong too, this is the right way, this has been the way for all my ancestors” The bible says,

If I speak in error, then let my error be shown, but I appeal to all, to ask God for the truth and He will truly reveal it. The Bible says, He is no respecter of persons. I have many things to share and I pray that I will get the opportunity say them all in other subsequent posts to reveal the actual deception that has fallen on the earth, but this is it for now. I have been researching on some topics this month, but I will keep updating my posts.

I do wish you all my readers a blessed weekend and month. I pray as well that even if these words have caused one to be offended, they may not take offense at the writer but call upon the Lord to show them where there is error and I too will do the same if any of it be inaccurate.

Stay blessed and in the peace of Christ.

2Corinthians 4:1-7

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
